Last week update

Just a quick overview of last-weeks training:
Mon - 25min run, 2hr45min ride with Tabata sprints, 4200yard swim with 4100yards continuous (see previous blog)
Tue - 1hr15min run with 40min at just below LT. 1hr hike. 1hr5min easy spin (see previous blog)
Wed - 40mile ride, 2hr37min with 2x20min at just below LT. 21ooyard swim and 30min run (see previous blog)
Thu - 3500y swim with 1000y TT. My time was close to my previous PB but not quite: 13:41. I also did a set of Tabata sprints. Chuckie and I travelled to the Wildflower race course where I spun for 1 hour and ran 25min on site. We left late in the day so packed it in early.
Fri - Wildflower race course ride. 56miles and YIKES! This is going to one hard and stellar race! I am excited about the hills...
I ran off the bike 30min with some higher end HR for 10minutes.
Sat - 4000y swim by 1000s: 1000warm-up, FREE at 80%, pull ez and the last 1000y with flippers. In the morning I did a 5mile MAF run test on the track. I was a bit disappointed with the time. I was slower than my prior testing but Chuckie reassured me this is normal. Something may be up because my eyes this day were swollen crazily. I think I have some allergies down here. We ended the day with a nice 1hour hike - more time on the feet.
Sun - 30min run at the vineyards, a 3hour spin with 1hr25min at mid-aerobic zone and a 1500yard flop at the end of the day.
Overall it panned out to be a great week: 4-5hours of swimming, 14hours on the bike and 4hr30min of running (and 2hours of hiking). One thing I noticed while I am down here is that you cannot complain about the weather - it is always nice, and my training is very consistent. One-on-one coaching rocks! I am having a good time and I think I am realizing how simple life needs to be to focus on this 100%. I am someone who procrastinates a lot and always finds things that come in the way - including napping, internet, errands etc. Down here however, I just get it done. Simple.
I am just in taper mode and thus far it seems to be going well. I am a bit nervous, excited and scared. I know it will be FUN and a good test of will!

Have fun at Wildflower. It is a fun race (but yes it can be tough). Last year it was super super windy!

Good Luck
